Wo-Manifesto
I am loyal to investigation, to observation, to listening. I believe in expression, in discourse, in dialogue. Expressive ownership of experience reveals human truth. I am passionate about community and honoring diversity of thought within.
Iām am a cultivator of seeds and an artist interested in landscapes. I believe our roots should be examined, paying attention to the experience of those growing around us, taking note of how our presence and actions challenge, support, heal, or choke one another out. I believe we are vulnerability imperfect and ever-changing. When we recognize our challenges and rise to meet them together, we foster deeper connection, resilience and strength.
I write, make theatre and lean towards absurdist, comedic art as vehicle to discuss social justice and inclusion. I invest in works which expand boundaries of performance and structure.
In teaching and community action, I promote a compass of values: Family structures do not fit one mold, Gender is a continuum. Feminism is necessary. Bodies and minds exist and function with diverse abilities, which should be accommodated and welcomed in all spaces. People of Color built the wealth of The United States of America. They must be honored, respected, paid reparations and protected from everyday aggressions, imprisonment and murder. Dignity is not a commodity. Any structure which devalues equittable human rights must be dismantled.
I am Fay. My name means to believe. I am a satellite, listening, learning, sharing.
